Ogallala Commons Playa Classroom, August 26, 2026. Nazareth Shorebirds Field Day, Playa Classroom, Nazareth, TX. Event Promo “Join us August 26th in Nazareth, TX for the Nazareth Shorebirds Playa Field Day! The field day will focus on the variety of shorebirds that migrate across the North American Southern Plains, using playa wetlands for their journeys, as well as information for habitat management. A tour will be held at OC’s Playa Classroom and surrounding playa sites.”

Ogallala Commons Playa Classroom, June 6, 2026. Nazareth, TX. Drawing Playa Wetlands workshop at the Playa Classroom in Nazareth, Texas for the Playa Management Course participants. Twenty people gathered to draw and experience a playa wetland. Ogallala Commons Playa Classroom, Feb. 3, 2026. Nazareth, Texas. “The days are getting longer, now that we are over 6 weeks past the Winter Solstice. Last week, Prof. Carol Flueckiger and three of her students visited OC's Playa Classroom to observe current conditions. They marveled at one of the large “macropore” holes lying across the playa basin, evidence of aquifer recharge during the wet period of abundant surface water this past summer.” Darryl L. Ogallala Commons Playa Classroom, June 7, 2025, Nazareth, TX. Drawing Playa Wetlands Workshop. Participants complete an online Playa Management course and a requirement is that they go to a playa wetland to experience the ecosystem they studies. This particular field day hosted a Drawing Playa Wetlands workshop.
