A Sorghum Story in RISO Prints

TTU Global Sorghum Conference, September. 14 – 18, Lubbock, TX

In honor of the Texas Tech University Global Sorghum Conference, September 14 – 18, 2026, students in the ART 2310 Art, Environment, Sustainability course taught by professor Carol Flueckiger  created RISO prints illustrating the story of sorghum. The portfolio celebrates the beauty and strength of sorghum production within the semi-arid landscape. Students are learning about sorghum within the northwest Texas environment that is abundant in wind and sunlight and scarce in water. They are experimenting with how to show the elements: wind, sun and water within RISO print illustrations. What do you think about the relationship of RISO prints and agricultural production?
